| DaimlerChrysler / Dodge SRT-4 |
Project Description:
A micro site to feature the all new SRT-4 which comes straight from the factory with a turbocharged 2.4-liter 215-horsepower engine that propels it from 0-60 in under six seconds! Normally, a car like this comes with a catch - you have to modify it to get it up to speed. Not the Dodge SRT-4. The site will showcase information on a series of events hosted in Miami around the launch of the new Dodge Neon SRT-4 www.dodge.com (click SRT-4). Its functionality will allow enthusiasts who visit the site to go and see when the next event is happening, as well as registering for free "Front of the line" passes to clubs in the Miami area. The site also has teh ability to send emails to registered users regarding the information on the next event. Key Functionalities:
- Event information
- User registration
- Newsletter distribution
- Miami / SRT-4 look and feel
Technical Goals
In order to empower car enthusiasts with up-to-date information on parties and events, DaimlerChrysler wanted to build a localized micro site for their new featured car, the "SRT-4 Turbocharged". This newly designed and developed web site had to meet the following requirements:
- Attract enthusiasts for the car to sign up for parties/events in the Miami, Florida area.
- Integrate a back-end system that could capture the registration information, along with multiple feedback forms that will be easily accessible to Dodge/DaimlerChrysler.
- Maintain a low download time and reduce the overall complexity of a site of this nature.
Using a combination of Flash/HTML and PHP/MySQL on the backend, Preface Media has excelled in meeting these goals for the Turbocharged2003 web site. Target Audience "To a hip hop soundtrack, graffiti artists in baggy clothes tagged a brick wall, as the Daimler Chrysler brass told the assembled press that the SRT-4 has everything the kids want. They just stopped short of calling it fresh and fly. We left shaking our heads. We remember thinking Dodge still didn't get it. We even shook off the claim that the turbocharged 2003 Dodge Neon SRT-4 would be the quickest car you could buy in America for less than $20,000, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds. No way, we thought." - Sport Compact Car Magazine. After taking the car for a spin on their test tracks, the reaction from the reviewers was simply, " Wow ." |
