Kevin Yao - Founder
As the Founder of Preface Media, Kevin Yao sets the tone and direction of the company's business, insuring the overall quality and high standards of work, as well as being actively involved with business planning.
Kevin founded Preface Media with experiences from Herbalife International where he was the e-Commerce Creative Designer, assisted Motorola for their multilingual global web sites, and as an Interactive Creative Director at ZixCorp. In addition to Kevin's comprehensive design skills, he is a very thorough operations manager, working under stringent deadlines for the past 10 years with vision and strategy in order to get the job done. Throughout the years he has been focusing on front-end design/development, branding requirements gathering to concept prototyping. He possess extensive experiences working with corporations, entrepreneurs, and foreign relations and have utilized his language proficiencies in English, Spanish, and Chinese as well.
George Higa - Chief Creative Director
George Higa has been involved in the graphic design and user interface/interactivity field for the last 9 years. He has worked on projects for companies large and small, such as Motorola SPS, Verizon, Nokia, Dodge, The University of Texas at Austin, and Anywhereyougo.com amongst others. With Preface Media he brings years of experience and a keen eye for detail along with a sense of how technology and design can best serve the client. Over the years he has designed and developed a number of different e-commerce solutions, content management packages and successfully project managed to fruition several desktop client applications for corporations such as Verizon and Nokia.
In his spare time, George enjoys reading and writing, playing guitar and riding his motorcycle. He is Bachelors Degree in English from the University of Texas at Austin.
Mike Sokoryansky - Chief Solutions Architect
Mike oversees technology and product development at Preface Media. Before joining Preface Media, Mike had worked in such giants as Hewlett-Packard, Citrix, and Verizon as well as smaller start-ups giving him a unique experience in shaping IT organizations. He has designed and implemented several core products and business systems that have gone on to net billions of dollars in revenues. In addition to his technical skills Mike has extensive expertise in organizing small and large teams to deliver quality products aligned to business needs under the strictest timelines.
He brings wide-ranging solutions expertise to Preface Media. By drawing on his technical and organizational strengths he is guiding our engineers in building the present and the future of Preface Media solutions. Mike is fluent in Russian and has a Bachelors and Masters degrees in Computer Science from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and numerous industry accolades and awards.
Sam Chakravarty - VP of Business Development
Sam is responsible for Customer Relations and Business Development at Preface Media. Prior to joining Preface Media, Sam worked closely with Fortune 500 companies for almost a decade in the technology and business development areas. He ran organizations with large cross-functional teams and annual budgets of several million dollars. He has been responsible for the ideation; development and deployment of cutting edge products and creative sales techniques that help companies to catapult their revenues and dramatically improve their bottom line. Sam directed e-Commerce strategy and ushered in the use of wireless technology and mobile computing to help companies achieve their revenue targets. He also played a key role in fostering partnerships with leading companies in the industry including Microsoft, Verizon, British Telecom, Cisco, Intel and Sun Microsystems.
He brings a strong knowledge of finance, business development and technology to Preface Media. Sam holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. He has several patents (pending) in the United States and
European Union for his innovative work. He has received industry accolades for his contributions including Frost and Sullivan’s Product Innovation of the Year Award in 2003.
